Ghana Interbank Payment and Services System, (GhIPSS) wrapped up the Breast Cancer Awareness month with free breast cancer screening for inmates of the Accra Psychiatric Hospital in partnership with Breast Society Ghana, a breast health and wellness foundation focusing on creating awareness on breast cancer.
The screening and education extended to the business community of women in the two food courts close to the offices of GhIPSS. This forms part of GhIPSS’s commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of women in the communities we serve. As part of the exercise a donation was made to the Accra Psychiatric Hospital, to support it’s operations.
Clara B. Arthur, Chief Executive, GhIPSS reaffirmed the institution’s dedication to promoting the safety and well-being of Ghanaians. She stressed the importance of regular health checks to ensure early detection and treatment of any complications, noting that early intervention saves lives.
She stated, “Our priority is the health and well-being of our community. We emphasize regular health screenings, particularly for women, to help prevent and manage potential health issues. This partnership with Breast Society Ghana was established to raise greater awareness among the women in our community.”
