The Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems (GhIPSS) reaffirmed its leadership in Ghana’s digital financial space after clinching four major honours at the 7th National Technology & Communications Awards held over the weekend.
The awards highlight GhIPSS’s sustained excellence and innovation in building a secure and inclusive payment ecosystem under the oversight of the Bank of Ghana.
Among the top individual honours, Mr. Kwadwo Ntim, General Manager for Technology and Operations, received the Exemplary Leadership in Financial Technology Award, recognising his pivotal role in advancing Ghana’s payments infrastructure and digital transformation.
Mrs. Clemencia Tetteh, Head of Corporate Affairs and Communication, was also celebrated with the Distinguished Marketing and Communication Leader Award, acknowledging her strategic leadership in brand positioning, stakeholder engagement, and impactful communication within the financial technology space.
GhIPSS itself received the Financial Infrastructure Innovation Award, affirming its role in driving the adoption of cutting-edge payment technologies. The company’s Corporate Affairs team was further honoured with the Best Communication Team – FinTech Award, applauding their storytelling, visibility, and effective industry engagement.
Speaking after receiving her award, Mrs. Tetteh expressed appreciation to the organisers, noting that the recognition “affirms the team’s consistent efforts and motivates us to continue advancing Ghana’s electronic payment agenda.”
The National Technology & Communications Awards is one of Ghana’s most respected industry events, celebrating innovation and excellence among organisations and professionals shaping the country’s digital economy. This year’s edition brought together policymakers, technology leaders, innovators, and key industry stakeholders committed to advancing digital transformation nationwide.
Since its establishment in 2007, GhIPSS has introduced a suite of electronic payment solutions, including GhQR, GhIPSS Instant Pay, and e-zwich, which have enhanced financial inclusion and facilitated seamless, real-time transactions across the country.
The multiple recognitions add to GhIPSS’s growing list of both local and international accolades this year, underscoring its continuing commitment to innovation, reliability, and leadership in Ghana’s financial technology ecosystem.
