The Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Stephen Ayesu Ntim is challenging the Afrobarometer study that says Ghana is heading in the wrong direction under the current administration.
The latest Democracy Risk Report published by the Afarobarometer revealed that 87% of Ghanaians representing about 9 out of 10 Ghanaians believe the country is heading in the wrong direction under the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia government.
But the national chairman of the party believes otherwise. Speaking at the launch of the party’s manifesto, Mr. Ntim insisted that the country is on the right path to economic transformation, growth, and development.
“We are on the right from where I sit towards economic prosperity and have embarked on far-reaching institutional reforms essential for good and accountable governance within a stable democratic society,” the national chairman remarked to a cheering crowd.

He maintains that the much-touted interventions such as the flagship Free Senior High School Education, STEM and TVET Schools, Interoperability in mobile money operations, and the Agenda 111 hospital projects among others have situated the socio-economic growth of the country on the path of prosperity.
He explained that “our achievements are many including the successful implementation of the Free SHS, STEM and TVET Schools, Mobile money interoperability, the transformative One District One Factory Initiative, significant infrastructure for poverty reduction programs, the Agenda 111 Hospital Project among many others.” The comment from the NPP Chairman comes at a time when many Ghanaians say the deterioration of the economy is causing a high cost of living amid high inflation. A time when the country is on a resuscitation program from the IMF in order to steady affairs, but Stephen Ntim says his government deserves applause for sterling leadership.
