Newmont Ghana has paid a total of GH¢2.388 billion to the Government of Ghana in royalties, taxes and carried interest for the third quarter of 2025.
The payments, made through the Ghana Revenue Authority, Forestry Commission and the Ministry of Finance cover Corporate Tax, Minerals Royalty, PAYE, Withholding Tax, Capital Gains Tax and carried interest obligations.
Breakdown of the Q3 payments includes:
• Corporate Tax: GH¢1.192 billion
• Minerals Royalty: GH¢309 million
• Capital Gains Tax: GH¢511 million
• Forestry Levy/Carried Interest: GH¢234 million
• PAYE: GH¢75 million
• Withholding Tax: GH¢67 million
These bring Newmont’s total fiscal contributions for January–September 2025 to GH¢9.874 billion, reinforcing the company’s position as one of Ghana’s largest taxpayers.
Mr. Danquah Addo-Yobo, Country Manager for Newmont Ghana, said the company’s tax and royalty payments reflect its ongoing commitment to supporting Ghana’s economic development.
“By paying our fair share and disclosing these payments, we help promote transparency and good governance,” he noted.
Newmont remains a significant contributor to national growth through tax revenue, employment, local procurement and community development initiatives.
He added that with the official opening of the Ahafo North Mine in October, expected to produce between 275,000 and 325,000 ounces of gold annually, Newmont will expand its national production footprint and further increase its economic contributions.
