The Association of Small Scale Industries (ASSI) has marked this year’s International Workers’ Day with a strong tribute to mastercraft persons, hailing their role as the driving force behind Ghana’s informal economy.
In a statement issued to commemorate the day, ASSI praised the resilience and dedication of mastercraft workers whose contributions fuel innovation, productivity, and inclusive development across all sectors.
“As we navigate the path of recovery, sustainability, and expansion, your role remains more vital than ever,” the statement said.
ASSI also used the occasion to reaffirm its commitment to improving the welfare of its members.
The Association pledged to advocate for better working conditions, promote stronger ties between masters and trainees, and increase access to skills development.
“We believe in creating an enabling environment where every small-scale business can thrive,” it said.
It emphasised its role in pushing for policies that support growth, innovation, and sustainability within the sector.
