Visa Facilitation Services Global (VFS) will launch a new UK Visa Premium Application Centre in Kumasi on Thursday, June 26, 2025, marking a major expansion of visa services in Ghana.
The new facility, based at the Golden Bean Hotel in Nhyiaeso, will allow residents of the Ashanti Region and nearby areas to apply for UK visas and complete biometric enrolment locally.
The Kumasi centre eliminates the need for applicants to travel to Accra, offering greater convenience and access to one of Ghana’s most in-demand international travel services. The move responds to strong and growing demand for UK visas, with Ghana ranked among the top ten African countries for UK visit visa applications.
“We are delighted to expand UK visa application services to customers outside Accra. Kumasi and the Ashanti region are a crucial part of our bilateral relationship, and we look forward to welcoming more travellers from this region to the UK,” said H.E. Keith McMahon, Chargé d’Affaires at the British High Commission in Accra.
The new centre complements the existing Visa Application Centre in Accra’s Grand Oyeeman Building, which has been operational since October 2024.
Alok Singhal, Head of Sub-Saharan Africa at VFS Global, described the Kumasi centre as a natural next step in improving access to UK visa services. “Opening the Premium Application Centre in Kumasi helps us cater to a larger number of travellers seeking UK visas. It complements our existing facility in Accra and offers customers the same level of comfort, convenience, and efficiency.”
Beyond core application and biometric services, the Kumasi centre will offer a suite of premium features, including assistance with document uploads, real-time application status updates, passport return by courier, and the “Keep My Passport While Applying” service, which allows applicants to retain their passports during processing.
The Kumasi centre will operate from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily, with appointment bookings available online at VFS Global.
VFS Global, headquartered in Zurich and Dubai, has processed more than 309 million applications globally since 2001.
