Checks by The High Street Journal have revealed that the much-touted London-Kumasi Direct Charter flight has suffered another postponement.
Earlier arrangements by Ghana Airport Company Limited announced that the flight was scheduled for Tuesday, December 3, 2024. But it suffered a setback as agents confirmed that it has been rescheduled to December 5, 2024.
The Ghana Airport Company on Monday evening released a statement confirming the postponement as reported by The High Street Journal. Although the Ghana Airport Company failed to announce a new date, The High Street Journal sources indicated that the flight was rescheduled for December 5, 2024.
But it is emerging that the December 5 new date may also suffer another setback.

Currently, there are no Gatwick slots for the December 5 direct flight from London to Kumasi. The new tentative date, we are learning is December 6, 2024.
This postponement of the dates comes despite the slashing of the cost of the flight.
Initially, the price for a one-way trip was US$1,000 while the round-trip was priced at US$1,650. As of Monday, December 2, 2024, the price had been slashed to US$600 for a one-way trip and US$1,200 for a round-trip.
With this price reduction coupled with the postponement, many Ghanaians are asking the question of whether the flight is struggling to get the needed passengers.
Quick inquiries from the Ghanaian community in the UK have revealed that the majority of Ghanaians who had plans of visiting Ghana in December had already booked their tickets long ago.
Aviation Industry players are confirming to The High Street Journal that Ethiopian Airlines as of Tuesday evening has not applied for a slot at the Gatwick Airport for the much-anticipated flight.
The sources are convinced that the development is not an issue of a technical hitch with the flight but possible commercial or regulatory problems.
Based on these developments, is it possible that the flight which has already reduced its number of passengers is struggling to meet the remaining seats hence the postponement?
The High Street Journal will continue to monitor the situation and bring our audience up to speed with the details of the flight which is set to make history at the new Kumasi International Airport.
