The Ghana Stock Exchange continued its strong performance on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, as both benchmark indices climbed sharply, supported by gains in select blue-chip stocks and sustained investor activity.
The GSE Composite Index (GSE-CI) rose by 114.75 points, moving from 13,155.48 to 13,270.23, while the GSE Financial Stocks Index (GSE-FSI) advanced by 90.14 points to close at 8,039.92. The gains pushed year-to-date returns further to 51.31% and 73.01% respectively.
Market capitalisation also strengthened, rising from GH¢248.26 billion to GH¢252.05 billion, reflecting continued upward price movement across key counters.
Mixed performance across listed stocks
Trading activity for the day showed a mixed picture, with some stocks recording gains while others closed lower.
Ecobank Ghana PLC fell by GH¢0.55 to close at GH¢48.90, despite relatively active trading.
Ecobank Transnational Incorporated gained GH¢0.14, while GCB Bank PLC edged up slightly by GH¢0.05.
Guinness Ghana Breweries PLC declined by GH¢0.20, even as trading activity remained steady.
Scancom PLC was among the most actively traded stocks, with over 769,000 shares exchanged, and closed up by GH¢0.05.
Republic Bank (Ghana) PLC and Standard Chartered Bank Ghana PLC both recorded marginal declines, while SIC Insurance Company PLC gained GH¢0.18.
Market remains broadly positive
Despite the mixed stock-level performance, the overall market maintained its upward trajectory, supported by strong index gains and steady trading volumes.
The session reflected continued investor interest in the market, with gains in key financial and telecom stocks helping to sustain the bullish momentum on the exchange.
