Ghana’s rich agricultural prowess will be showcased in grand style at a National Agricultural Fair, Agrifest Ghana 2024, to both local and international agricultural enthusiasts.
The 2024 event, organised by the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, is part of the build-up to this year’s 40th edition of National Farmers’ Day. The five-day fair is scheduled to begin on Monday, November 4, to Friday, November 8, 2024.
The fair, the Ministry says will offer a platform for farmers and other agricultural stakeholders to exhibit the rich national farming heritage of the country to patrons of the event. Farmers, agribusiness, and industry experts will participate in the fair by displaying new and innovative agricultural discoveries, sharing knowledge, and exchanging innovations to improve the sector.
Economically, AgriFest Ghana 2024 is also expected to stimulate economic growth through networking. The networks built through the platform are envisaged to facilitate trade, foster investment opportunities, and improve the country’s agricultural value and supply chains.
Portions of a statement from the Ministry copied to The High Street Journal emphasised that the “event will showcase Ghana’s rich agricultural heritage and serve as a vibrant platform for knowledge exchange and innovation, bringing together farmers and stakeholders from across the country.”
To show support for the programme, some companies in Ghana’s agricultural value chain, as part of their corporate social responsibility have donated items and cash worth thousands of cedis to push the agenda. The companies include New Okaff, Wynca Sunshine, Rainbow Agro, Crocodile Matchet, and others.
