Young engineers in Ghana have been urged to play a more active role in shaping the country’s development through innovation, collaboration and practical problem-solving.
Speaking at the Youth in Engineering Forum during the 56th Annual General Meeting and Engineering Conference of the Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhIE) in Ho, President of Youth in Engineering Benedict Atta Poku said the country’s future will depend on the ideas and actions of the next generation of engineers.
“Ghana’s future will not be built by spectators but by innovators, engineers, thinkers, and problem-solvers who are ready to apply their knowledge to national development,” he said.

Addressing participants at the forum, Atta Poku said the conference should serve not only as a platform for learning but also as a launchpad for collaboration, innovation and practical solutions to Ghana’s development challenges.
He encouraged young engineers and students attending the event to engage actively, build professional networks and use the gathering to strengthen their commitment to national development. Atta Poku said participants should leave the conference with renewed determination to contribute to Ghana’s transformation through engineering.
The Youth in Engineering Forum is part of activities lined up for the 56th annual conference of the Ghana Institution of Engineering, which has brought together engineers, students, industry leaders and policymakers in Ho to discuss the role of engineering in national development.
