The Inter Tourism Expo, Accra (iNTTA 2024), starts on September 11, as one of the most anticipated tourism trade shows in West Africa.
Organized annually under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, this prestigious event enjoys the support of key institutions such as the Economic Trade and Investment Bureau (MFARI), the Indian High Commission in Ghana, the School of Creative Arts, the Ministry of Trade & Industry, and the University of Education, Winneba. The expo has become a vital platform for promoting tourism brands, destinations, products, and services both within Ghana and across Africa.
The event will run for three days ending on 13th, 2024, at the Akwaaba Village, under the theme: “Sustainable Public-Private Partnerships & Equitable Tourism Investments.” The event will focus on creating meaningful connections between African destinations and the Ghanaian travel market. This year’s edition is poised to be bigger than ever, with over 200 exhibitors, 100 startups, and more than 1,000 business-to-business (B2B) visitors expected to participate.
It will feature a Thought Leaders Conference, where top tourism experts, policymakers, and industry stakeholders will engage in discussions about the future of tourism in Africa. This will include a focus on sustainable tourism practices, equitable investment strategies, and the role of public-private partnerships in driving growth and innovation across the sector.

The conference will also address how African countries can leverage tourism as a catalyst for economic development, especially in light of the growing demand for travel experiences that prioritize sustainability and social responsibility. With Africa’s vast potential as a tourism destination, the discussions will aim to foster collaborations that enhance the continent’s tourism offerings on the global stage.
In addition to the conference, the expo will provide a platform for networking and deal-making between exhibitors and visitors. This year, the expo expects to welcome more than 150 exhibitors from various tourism-related sectors, including hospitality, transportation, travel technology, and cultural tourism. These exhibitors will showcase their products and services to a diverse audience of international buyers, travel professionals, and industry leaders, facilitating opportunities for business partnerships and collaborations.
The expo will also highlight the role of startups and small businesses in the tourism sector, with a dedicated section for 100 startups to present their innovative ideas and solutions aimed at enhancing tourism experiences in Africa. This initiative seeks to support the growth of local entrepreneurs and promote the development of tourism-focused technology and services that can drive sustainable growth.
With over 500 B2B visitors, the expo will also serve as a key platform for destination marketing, allowing tourism boards and travel operators from across Africa and beyond to connect with potential partners and clients. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore new business opportunities, negotiate deals, and forge relationships that could transform the tourism landscape in the region.
As the tourism industry continues to recover from the impacts of the global pandemic, iNTTA 2024 will be a pivotal moment for stakeholders to come together and explore ways to build a more resilient and inclusive tourism sector in Africa. Through the power of collaboration and innovation, the expo aims to lay the foundation for long-term success, benefiting both businesses and communities across the continent.
