The Member of Parliament (MP)-elect of Pru East Constituency, Emmanuel Kwaku Boam, has pledged to support youth interested in farming and other related agribusiness but may not have the necessary resources through his initiative dubbed Pru East to the World agenda. The Pru East to the World project aims to uplift the entire community.
The initiative forms part of the vision of the incoming MP for the constituency, which seeks to harness the socio-economic potential of the area through the Pru East to the World campaign.

With agriculture being the mainstay of the area, Emmanuel Boam hopes to transform farming from the subsistence level to a large-scale one by attracting investors to the constituency.
This he believes will create jobs, reduce dependency and transform the economic life of the constituents.
In an interview with The High Street Journal, the MP-elect revealed that the vision is not just to attract investors into the constituency for commercial farming and agribusiness purposes but to support youth and women interested in the field of farming as part of the Pru East to the World initiative.
Emmanuel Boam noted that another leg of his vision for agriculture transforming in the area is to create agriculture enclaves where the youth and women can farm without being burdened with any cost.
The enclave, he said, will include land acquisition, irrigation facilities, farming inputs, and other services which will come at no cost to the youth. Interested persons will only have to register and farm in the enclave.
After harvesting, there will be an arrangement where the produce will be bought. Part of the proceeds will be used to defray the cost while the rest is given back to the farmer as income.
“There is also another leg of the investment. And what I want to do is to seek for that large acreage of land and then partition it. It is going to be like a state-owned farm. This is how we will do it. We have about one hectare of land.”
He continued, “We provide you with the seeds. There is an irrigation facility on that land. We help you with it. At a certain point, you will need fertilizer. You will need weedicides. We provide all this for you. Whatever the cost is, we are looking at taking charge of that cost.”
Additionally, he said a ready market initiative will be arranged to buy the produce, adding, “Whatever cost incurred, we will just take it, and give you the balance as your money, as your profit.”
This, Emmanuel Boam anticipates, will offer financial freedom to the youth and women while supporting them to achieve their full potential.
He, therefore, extended an invitation to all investors, both local and abroad to consider the Pru East Constituency a viable destination for commercial farming and agribusiness under the Pru East to the World agenda.
