– Kofi Kinaata Urges Ghanaians
Renowned Ghanaian Musician Martin King Arthur, widely known in the showbiz industry as Kofi Kinaata, has asserted that sustainable jobs and supporting Ghana’s local entrepreneurs to flourish are dependent on how Ghanaians patronise locally made goods and services.
The popular rapper known for his lyrical dexterity says Ghana can benefit from significant socio-economic benefits if all Ghanaians rally behind Made-In-Ghana goods.
He says Ghanaians must not only patronise Made-in-Ghana goods but must also promote them.
The Things Fall Apart hitmaker made this clarion call last week when he graced the launch of the first branch of “My Ghana Town” which is a hub to shop for high-quality locally made goods in Accra.
“We need to always promote Made-In-Ghana products and also patronise them to keep our Ghanaian entrepreneurs in operation. Have you thought of what that will do for us as a country?” he quizzed.
He added that “this is going to boost the local economy and employment through the use of local materials, working with suppliers, designers and other professionals within the value chain.”
My Ghana Town is a one-stop shop that offers a wide selection of Made-in-Ghana products, ranging from food items and ingredients to beverages, skincare and beauty products, textiles, clothing, and garments.
The store also stocks local leather footwear and slippers, fashion accessories for both men and women, as well as paintings, handicrafts, and more.
The first branch of My Ghana Town is located in the heart of Accra, specifically in Labone, at Premier Place, directly opposite Bosphorus Restaurant & Café. A second branch is set to open soon in the central business district.
