MobileMoney Fintech LTD (MMFL) has launched a white paper calling for stronger collaboration among regulators, financial institutions, telecommunications companies, fintech firms and law enforcement agencies to combat digital fraud and protect consumer confidence in Ghana’s growing digital financial services sector.
The white paper, titled “Uniting Against Digital Fraud: Strengthening Ecosystem Collaboration in Ghana’s Digital Financial Services Sector,” highlights the increasing threat posed by digital fraud and outlines measures to strengthen resilience across the industry.
A statement issued by MMFL said the publication is developed from insights gathered during the MobileMoney Fintech Partner Exchange, a stakeholder forum held in April 2026 that brought together key actors in the digital financial ecosystem.
The statement noted that as digital financial services continue to expand rapidly across the country, fraud risks have become more sophisticated, requiring coordinated action and intelligence-sharing among industry players.
It said digital fraud was no longer an isolated institutional challenge but an ecosystem-wide issue that demanded stronger partnerships, faster information exchange, improved response mechanisms and sustained investment in secure digital platforms.
The white paper identifies key priorities, including the establishment of joint coordination structures, enhanced intelligence-sharing frameworks, accelerated adoption of secure digital channels and intensified consumer and agent education.
Mr Shaibu Haruna, Chief Executive Officer of MobileMoney Fintech LTD, said sustaining growth in Ghana’s digital financial services industry depended not only on innovation and accessibility but also on the ability of stakeholders to safeguard the integrity of the ecosystem.
“The continued growth of Ghana’s digital financial ecosystem depends not only on innovation and access, but also on our collective ability to protect the integrity of the system,” he said.
Mr Haruna said the white paper reflected a shared commitment among stakeholders to approach digital security as a collective responsibility anchored on collaboration, trust and coordinated action.
He said MMFL remained committed to working with public and private sector institutions to strengthen resilience against fraud, protect consumers and support the sustainable growth of digital financial services.
According to him, the publication seeks to contribute to policy discussions and support the development of practical solutions that enhance security, trust and confidence in Ghana’s digital economy.
