Ghana will use the global spotlight of the FIFA World Cup 2026 to promote exports and attract international buyers through a dedicated trade exhibition in the United States.
Trade, Agribusiness and Industry Minister Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare said the Made-in-Ghana FIFA World Cup 2026 Expo is part of a broader strategy to expand the country’s global trade footprint and position local businesses for international growth.
Speaking at the launch in Accra, she described the initiative as a chance to showcase Ghanaian products and capabilities on a major global platform. She said the Expo presents a strategic opportunity to showcase Ghanaian excellence on one of the “world’s biggest global stages” .
The event is scheduled for June 22 to 23 in Boston and is expected to connect Ghanaian businesses with international buyers, investors and diaspora communities, creating new commercial pathways for exporters. Ofosu-Adjare said Ghana’s participation in the World Cup provides a platform to present the country not only as a football nation but also as a source of high-quality products, innovation and enterprise.
The exhibition will highlight sectors including textiles, agro-processing, natural beauty products and digital innovation, reflecting the government’s push to expand non-traditional exports and reduce reliance on primary commodities.
According to her, the ministry will continue to support Ghanaian enterprises to ensure the Expo leads to lasting partnerships and measurable export gains.
The minister also commended LITINA Travel and Tour for leading the initiative, describing it as a blend of trade promotion, diaspora engagement and economic diplomacy. She urged businesses to leverage the World Cup as more than a sporting event, positioning it as an opportunity to strengthen Ghana’s international commercial presence.
Industry groups including the Association of Ghana Industries said the platform could help elevate Ghanaian products in global markets and enhance the country’s competitiveness.
