A Ghanaian youth-led start-up, Fihankra ComTech LLC has emerged as the winner of the Best Youth Innovation Award at the 7th Africa Tourism Leadership Forum held in Botswana.
Fihankra ComTech is a digital security solutions provider that develops, creates, facilitates, and provides the everyday person with various tools, products, and knowledge that they can use to protect themselves and their loved ones where they go.
Their solutions were recognized as creating affordable personal security, products, services, and training structured to meet the various unique security challenges faced in Africa.

They emerged winners from a pool of 153 applications selected across 10 countries in Africa.
It is worth noting that the start-up was one of the winning contestants in the inaugural Student Venture Support Programme and benefitted from the support of the University of Ghana Business School’s Innovation and Incubation Hub and the Research and Innovation Directorate.
With this new feat achieved in Africa, the team presented the award to the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo last week.
The Vice-Chancellor after expressing her joy and pride in the team, pledged that the University’s Management will continue to support the initiatives and ideas of the team as well as other students.
