Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has debunked speculation of a public sector job freeze, assuring Ghanaians that recruitment will continue in alignment with the country’s economic priorities. His remarks come in response to widespread concerns over potential employment restrictions following the 2025 budget presentation.

Speaking in an interview on Wednesday, March 12, Dr. Ato Forson categorically denied claims that the government had halted hiring across various sectors.

“There is no freeze on employment,” he stated emphatically, seeking to alleviate fears among job seekers and public sector employees.

The Finance Minister reaffirmed that the government remains committed to fostering job creation, particularly for the youth, while sustaining critical public services. Dr. Forson also stated that recruitment policies will be guided by Ghana’s economic needs, ensuring that key sectors such as healthcare, education, and security receive the necessary workforce to drive national development.
