89-year-old Ghanaian music legend Ebo Taylor is set to release his new single, “Obi Do Woa” (If Someone Loves You), from his upcoming album Jazz Is Dead 021, scheduled for release in October. This new project follows recent performances by Taylor at the We Out Here Festival, Hootananny Brixton in the UK, and Festivalle in Sicily. The single, recorded in Los Angeles at Linear Labs studio, features members of the Ebo Taylor Family band from Ghana and highlights his unique vocal prowess.
Jazz Is Dead 021 is a global movement celebrating the legacies of musical icons like the 89-year-old Ebo Taylor, through live concerts, visual media, and new recordings. The movement, founded in 2017 by music producers Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed Muhammad, along with concert producer Andrew Lojero and industry veteran Adam Block, aims to honor the contributions of artists who have shaped the music landscape.

In addition to the album release, Ebo Taylor has announced a tour, marking his first-ever performances in Mexico and Brazil, alongside North American dates. The tour kicks off on October 9 in Los Angeles, where Taylor will perform with his Family band and Pat Thomas.
As Taylor continues to make waves in the music industry, his influence extends beyond the stage. The release of his upcoming album and tour is expected to boost interest in Ghanaian music globally, potentially opening new markets and opportunities for other artists in the region. This move underscores the growing international recognition of African music and the potential for significant business growth within the industry.
