DHL Express is positioning Ghana as one of its most strategic African markets as the global logistics company seeks to deepen trade connectivity and expand partnerships across the continent, according to discussions held with German officials in Accra.
The company’s global Chief Executive Officer, John Pearson, led a senior delegation in talks with Frederik Landshöft at the German Embassy, where both sides discussed Ghana’s economic outlook, regional logistics opportunities and preparations for the upcoming German African Business Summit.

DHL operates in more than 220 countries and territories worldwide, including all 54 African countries, giving the company one of the continent’s largest logistics networks. Ghana ranks among DHL’s top five African markets, making it a growing role in trade and transportation.
The discussions focused on strengthening strategic partnerships within Africa’s logistics sector and leveraging logistics infrastructure to support trade integration, economic growth and employment opportunities for young people.
The German Embassy described logistics networks as critical to trade, connectivity and economic expansion, highlighting DHL’s role in Ghana’s logistics ecosystem and its contribution to international commerce.
Chief Executive Officer of DHL Express Central and West Africa, Kader Coulibaly, expressed appreciation for what he described as the embassy’s continued support in strengthening cooperation between the company and Ghanaian stakeholders.

The meeting also pointed to the growing German business interest in Ghana and broader African markets, seeking to capitalize on expanding regional trade flows and economic integration initiatives, including the African Continental Free Trade Area.
The German Embassy said it would continue supporting German-Ghanaian cooperation in trade and logistics as both countries pursue deeper commercial ties.
