A Ghanaian delegation led by the Deputy Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations Mohammed Adams Sukparu participated in the opening of the 26th Global Symposium for Regulators in Ankara, Turkey, as Ghana seeks to deepen international cooperation on digital policy and technology investment.
The symposium, known as Global Symposium for Regulators, brings together regulators, policymakers, technology executives and industry experts to discuss emerging issues in the global digital economy, including artificial intelligence governance, spectrum management, digital inclusion and cross-border data flows.
Ghana’s participation is to add to efforts to position it as an active player in shaping international regulatory frameworks for telecommunications and digital innovation.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, the deputy minister said Ghana remained committed to inclusive digital transformation, regulatory cooperation and innovation-driven economic growth.
The ministry has identified digital infrastructure expansion, cybersecurity enhancement and support for technology startups as central priorities under the government’s broader digital strategy.
The delegation is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with international stakeholders during the conference to explore investment opportunities and partnerships in Ghana’s digital sector.
With this, Ghana is implementing its Digital Ghana Agenda, which aims to expand the use of technology in sectors including education, healthcare, agriculture and public administration.
The symposium, hosted in Ankara, will continue over the coming days with policy roundtables, technical workshops and high-level discussions focused on the future of global digital regulation.
