Social media platform X has dramatically increased the price of its top-tier Premium+ subscription plan. According to X’s support page, the U.S. pricing for Premium+ has been revised to $50 per month and $350 annually. This was done hours after the platform unveiled its latest AI model, Grok 3.
This update marks the second recent price hike for the Premium+ tier. In December, subscribers saw their monthly rate jump from $16 to $22, effectively more than doubling what existing users now pay when considering all published pricing tiers. However, pricing details remain inconsistent across different sign-up screens—while one page indicates a rate of $50 per month, other screens list prices ranging from $39.83 per month to $40 at checkout.
Notably, xAI is positioning its latest Grok 3 features behind a separate SuperGrok plan, accessible exclusively through the Grok app. As a result, Premium+ subscribers will have access only to a subset of Grok 3’s capabilities, with advanced functions such as “deep search” and enhanced reasoning reserved for SuperGrok users.
The revised pricing strategy is a move by X to recalibrate its revenue model and ensure that users are paying more for advanced access to its cutting-edge AI technology.
