Tripoli is set to host the fourth edition of the Libya Energy & Economic Summit (LEES 2026) from January 24 to 26, positioning the country as a hub for energy, infrastructure, and investment opportunities amid its economic recovery.
The three-day summit, organized by Energy Capital & Power and endorsed by the Office of the Prime Minister, Ministry of Oil and Gas, and the National Oil Corporation (NOC), comes at a pivotal moment as Libya seeks to boost oil production from 1.4 million barrels per day (bpd) to 1.6 million bpd by the end of 2026, with a longer-term target of 2 million bpd.
Central to the discussions is an estimated $18 billion pipeline of oil, gas, power, and infrastructure projects, alongside Libya’s first international upstream licensing round in nearly two decades, offering 22 on- and offshore blocks for investment.
The summit will also highlight renewable energy initiatives, including the 500 MW Sadada solar plant led by TotalEnergies, as part of Libya’s broader 4 GW renewables ambition under the Renewable Energy Authority.
Keynote speakers at the opening ceremony will include Prime Minister Abdulhamid Al-Dbeibeh, Minister of Oil and Gas Dr. Khalifa Abdulsadek, and NOC Chairman Masoud M. Suleman. Minister Abdulsadek will join international counterparts from Turkey, Malta, and Algeria on a ministerial panel discussing sector priorities.
LEES 2026 will feature themed panel discussions covering gas monetization, flare reduction, power and grid modernization, and marginal field development, alongside bilateral national roundtables with countries including the U.S., Italy, France, and the U.K. The summit will also host technical workshops focusing on upstream optimization, enhanced oil recovery, AI-enabled monitoring, and renewable energy integration.
Sponsors reflect strong market confidence, with Assail Drilling Company as Diamond Plus sponsor, joined by Eni, TotalEnergies, Repsol, OMV, ConocoPhillips, and Melltiah Oil & Gas as Diamond sponsors. SLB, NESR, and Delta United Group lead the Gold tier, supported by Silver, Bronze, and National sponsors.
With growing international interest, LEES 2026 aims to provide investors, operators, and policymakers with direct access to bankable projects, first-mover opportunities, and strategic partnerships in one of Africa’s most important energy markets.
