SATURDAY MORNING HANGOVER BLUES

Post-Christmas reflections mix humor, politics, and satire, highlighting thumbprinting issues, societal voices, and hope for Ghana's resilient future.

It’s normal to confuse the days and dates after Christmas especially if it falls on a weekday. This fantasmagoric feeling is just a symptom of a prolonged and mild hangover. Just relax. After the new year, you’ll be consulting the calendar than reading your messages. The longest month is just around the corner. Ibi Ghana we dey, after all.

Ibi Ghana we dey!

Discussions about the recent thumbprinting exercise will not be ending now so let’s also talk some. After all, now that people have found their voices. After eight long years of languishing under the guidance and inspiration of the scriptures and data.

Whilst My President was building a legacy inspired by scriptures, Walewale Adam Smith was mesmerizing us with data and digitalization. Ibi data we go chop?

By the way, let’s spare those chacha prophets. Let them go and prophesy no more. But let’s be vigilant. If anyone should find that learned fellow who stated emphatically in the blind faith of the victory of Walewale Adam Smith that he’ll relocate to Aneho land, please tell him that he doesn’t need a passport or visa. With Ghana card, he’s good to go. He should go and be vowing and swearing on Lamankara radio.

Ibi Ghana we dey!!

As for CLOSSAG, CHASS and WAEC, the least said about their new found voices, the better. But, it appears some other citizens who have now found their voices were aglow while in hibernation. Hmmm……

Eiiii….Prof, Prof, you are adding your voice? Welcome. Whether it was sympathy, empathy, apathy and all the ‘pathies’, the Umbrella Commune have carried the day. We’re just waiting impatiently for how they’ll herd the Triumphant (no longer Triumphant) Patriotic Elephants into the bush.

This Republic of our death never lacks interesting citizens. But let’s allow them, after all, Little Dramani has established ORAL. So let them talk all they want orally. Mouth no be gun. Abi?

Ibi Ghana we dey!!!

Let’s be frank. The Queen of Jeans and her roundtable of Knights of thumbprinting have not lived to expectations at all. Yours Truly is saddened by their performance on this recent thumbprinting exercise but doesn’t support the call to remove her. They’ve goofed on countless times but it’s a learning curve for them.

The most vexing point is before we went to the exercise, this woman was always saying that they have a robust system in place to ensure that everything will be done without any delays and hindrances.

Massa, tell me if this looks like a robust system. Even the parties and the observers have data on the thumbprinting exercise than her outfit. Tweeaa…… robust indeed!

The days before the thumbprinting exercise, the catch phrase was ‘elections are won at polling station’. And here we are. Collation and  re-collatiion is being done anywhere and everywhere.

The Almighty Wiggy Red Robbed Supremos have said their bit. It’s up to the Queen to cling to her stance or allow the courts to decide for her.

Ibi Ghana we dey!!!

Well, let’s wrap up for the year. It’s been a great year for us all. Put regrets behind and build on the little achievements for the coming year. But don’t forget everyday is a new year.

Have a great weekend and do call out to others and check on them.
