There’s a story about an Englishman who came to the Republic in his private jet. At the airport, the first citizen of this Republic of our death worker he met, he asked, is it true that Ghanaians answer questions with questions? And guess what the answer he got, was who told you?
The English man just got back on his plane and left. He’s got his answer!!
So like the typical Republicans that we are , we are now seeing it on display in the political arena. Presidential candidates asking questions then answering questions with questions.
Little Dramani ask questions on a political platform and Walewale Adam Smith answers with questions. Are we a serious country? These people who want to be the occupants of the Republic’s number one residence in Kanda trading in questions? To the extent that Little Dramani had to import stupidity from America!
Whereas, what we want to hear are the policies they will bring on board to alleviate the economic wahala we’re going through.
Tweeaa!!!
Ibi Ghana we dey!
We have demeaned our politics so much so that even the person who started using buses on his campaign travels has beencome a debate. This person says I started, the other is contesting it. Aba?
Followers on the various parties have become numerologists suddenly. Every number on the ballot paper is a sign of victory or defeat. So funny. Even people who claim to be political analysts will always be heard talking about about only Walewale Adam Smith and Little Dramani forgetting that there are other people also in the contest. It’s a pity!
Ibi Ghana we dey!!
So, the most important reasons given by the Wiggy Red Robbed Supremos of the Republic was that people will left without representation in the People’s House and also the Honables involve will lose their salary and allowances and emoluments if their seat is declared vacant.
And we are in a Republic where some people have not had representation in the People’s House for almost 4 years and nobody thinks or says anything about them. I wonder if the situation will be same if a constituency in the Asante region was denied the opportunity to vote for their Honable.
Let’s ask ooo …… did those Honables who switched carpet think of the consequences of their salaries being halted or their constituents not being represented before switching carpets? Just doing lorgorligi politics in the Republic. But….
Ibi Ghana we dey!!
As for this current People’s House, some of us have argued that it’s not legal. And should be declared null and void. The reason being that this People’s House is not complete because it’s not all citizens in the Republic that are represented.
It is said that “Agoro bɛ sɔa, na afri anopa”. This is a House made up of respected citizens and looking back at their behaviour on the first day. Newly sworn in Honables were sprinting and exchanging batons (ballot papers) from behind in the People’s House. While the sprint contest was going on, some who couldn’t sprint were throwing ferocious blows at opponents and the Airs Seller of the Republic’s air waves was having a good time lap dancing. It took the abongo crew to calm things down.
Today, see them? Fighting over who is majority!
Meanwhile, for some of us, this current People’s House has been the most insensitive to the plight of the citizens. While allowing the borrowing the most gargantuan going for the most of loans in the history of the Republic and introducing the most obnoxious and ridiculous taxes ever.
The Capital is still dirty, what did the sanitation tax do? Even e-levy?
And why should they bother? With the fat salaries and allowances assured, who cares? Lorgorligi Honables!
Ah well, ibi Ghana we dey!!!
Rasta was recently asked by a colleague where his vote was and he replied that he wasn’t going to vote. The colleague just told him that he’s not a responsible citizen.
Irresponsible citizen? When none of those on the ballot paper appeals to him? So he should go on to the polling station on voting day, wait in a queue under the December harmattan weather to find a job for someone’s father or mother whom he doesn’t trust? More annoying is when they come to vote, they don’t even respect the queue, they jump it to cast their vote and if those who are waiting for their turn are lucky, they get a wave when their convoy of cars drives away. Tweeaa!
Or Rasta should just go and spoil the ballot paper deliberately? An Englishman visiting Ghana left in frustration after encountering political leaders who answer questions with more questions, highlighting the country’s political shortcomings and lack of serious policy discussions.
Ibi Ghana we dey!!!
You see human being of an Archbishop? After asking for forgiveness from the families of the deceased in tears, he’s got his voice and making unnecessary remarks in his church. Hmmm…. lorgorligi church leaders!
Have a wonderful Saturday Morning hangover and a lorgorligi weekend.
