The much-anticipated Power and Energy Ghana Expo 2024 has officially commenced at the Accra International Conference Centre, drawing hundreds of industry leaders, manufacturers, and visitors from Ghana, West Africa, and beyond.
Running since November 6 to 8, this pivotal event highlights the latest advancements in power, energy, electrical, and engineering solutions, with over 100 exhibitors presenting products designed to address the region’s growing energy needs.
Organized under the auspices of Ghana’s Ministry of Energy and Ministry of Trade & Industries, the expo serves as a hub for fostering vital partnerships across the energy sector.
At the event’s opening, Dr. Joseph Obeng, president of the Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA), emphasized the importance of raising awareness on energy efficiency within Ghana. He pointed out that the expo aims to bring attention to sustainable power solutions, renewable energy innovations, and efficient power transmission practices that can support the country’s goals in energy efficiency.

Featured exhibits include the latest in solar photovoltaic systems, energy monitoring technology, and decentralized power options that cater to the unique demands of Ghana and the wider West African region.
Indian High Commissioner to Ghana, H.E. Shri Manish Gupta, delivered a keynote address underscoring the critical role of energy availability as a foundational element for economic growth. Highlighting the multifaceted impact of energy on various sectors, he stated that stable power would not only boost industrial output but also significantly improve healthcare and education. His remarks reinforced the urgent call for greater investment in Ghana’s energy infrastructure to support national development.
Mrs. Wilhemina Asamoah, Chief Director of the Ministry of Energy, reflected on the positive strides Ghana’s energy sector has made in recent years, with a notable increase in local manufacturing output over the past five years. She noted the government’s commitment to positioning Ghana as a leader in sustainable energy on the continent, urging the industry to build on the momentum gained through events like the Power and Energy Expo to foster further innovations, partnerships, and investment.
According to organizers, this year’s expo is expected to drive economic benefits for Ghana, including increased trade, job creation, and enhanced energy infrastructure.
