MTN South Sudan has unveiled a fully equipped technology hub at the Mangateen Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp in Juba, offering digital access and essential tech tools to thousands of residents in one of the country’s most underserved communities.
The hub includes internet connectivity, computers, and solar power, giving displaced families access to online learning, communication platforms, and opportunities for digital entrepreneurship. MTN South Sudan CEO Mapula Bodibe led the launch on-site, underscoring the company’s direct involvement in delivering the project.
The initiative is part of MTN’s annual #21DaysOfYelloCare campaign, a corporate social investment program that focuses on long-term, community-led impact across the company’s markets. With the campaign drawing to a close, the Mangateen hub stands out as one of its most significant local milestones.
The project reflects MTN South Sudan’s wider strategy to bridge the digital divide by investing in infrastructure for marginalized populations. As the country continues to recover from conflict and displacement, access to reliable technology is increasingly seen as critical to development and inclusion.
By targeting IDP camps, where residents face some of the greatest barriers to connectivity, MTN South Sudan is positioning itself as a key player in building digital resilience in post-crisis environments.
