Legends Sports Management (LSM), the exclusive licensee of the International Pairs golf series in Ghana, is set to officially launch the 2025 International Pairs Golf Tournament on April 23 at the Montgomery Golf Estate at East Legon Hills.
The launch event will be held in two parts, a golf tournament to tee off the day, followed by a formal evening ceremony to unveil the tournament branding and celebrate key contributors, with culinary experience featuring South African cuisine, the host nation of the global finals.
Now in its 27th year, the International Pairs Tournament was introduced to Ghana in 2023 under the leadership of Mr. Abdul-Aziz Amankwa and has quickly become a major fixture on the local golf calendar. Founded in 1998, the tournament features a unique two-person team format where players combine scores, attracting amateur golfers and members of the press from around the world.
The qualifiers for the 2025 edition will begin on May 3 at Tema Centre of the World Golf Club, with subsequent rounds scheduled across key courses in Greater Accra, including the Celebrity Golf Club at Sakumono. The tour then heads to the Western Region for a three-course rotation before concluding in the Ashanti Region with a final qualifier at the Royal Golf Club in Kumasi on May 31.

At each qualifier, the top 30 percent of finishers will advance to the National Playoff scheduled for August 2 at the Achimota Golf Club. The winning pair from this final stage will earn an all-expenses-paid trip to represent Ghana at the World Finals in Sun City, South Africa, where they will compete against teams from over 30 countries.
LSM, which holds the exclusive rights to organize the International Pairs in Ghana, spearheaded by Abdul-Aziz Amankwa, will be putting together a well structured competition. The qualifiers will be highly competitive, and the winners of the National Playoff will not only represent Ghana but enjoy a fully funded trip, covering flights, accommodation, and meals, to the 2025 World Finals.
In addition to national honours, trophies will be awarded to the top five qualifiers, alongside prizes from sponsors.
Attendance to the launch is by invitation only. The event will welcome club executives, competition secretaries, sponsors, media, and other stakeholders
According to Mr. Amankwa, it is his hope that the International Pairs grows a rising appetite for golf in Ghana.
With LSM at the helm, anticipation is building for a thrilling road to Sun City, with Ghana possibly having a podium finish in this prestigious global competition.
