Ghana’s Ambassador to China, Kojo Bonsu, extended an invitation that blended vision with opportunity. At a recent press soiree in Beijing, he urged Chinese media to be more than observers, to become storytellers illuminating Ghana’s untapped investment treasures and opening new gateways for trade.
Bonsu painted a vivid picture of sectors brimming with potential: infrastructure, clean energy, Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence, healthcare, minerals processing, and agriculture. “There are potential for growth in various sectors such as infrastructure, clean energy, Information Technology (IT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), healthcare, minerals processing and agriculture,” he pointed out, inviting Chinese investors to see Ghana’s promise not as abstract numbers, but as real projects with tangible returns.
Beyond investment prospects, Bonsu highlighted Ghana’s stability and welcoming business environment. Its democratic foundations, rich culture, and open-door approach make the country a safe and promising destination for investors. “Ghana is committed to strengthening ties with China. My country is a stable democracy, has a business-friendly environment, and a rich cultural heritage,” he said, positioning Ghana as both a dependable partner and a land of opportunity.
Opportunities in Ghana are abundant, but how can investors invest if they don’t know where these opportunities lie? And how can the opportunities be seen if stories are not told? Media storytelling is the bridge that connects Ghana’s potential with investors across the globe, turning awareness into action.
Turning to the role of the media, Bonsu framed journalists as vital allies in shaping Ghana’s economic narrative. “The Chinese media institutions should henceforth partner with the Ghana Embassy in promoting trade and investment opportunities in both of our sister countries for growth,” he said, underlining the power of storytelling in attracting investment.
With doors wide open and opportunities tangible across sectors, ambassador Bonsu emphasized Ghana is ready. Through collaboration, media partnership, and trade, the country’s growth story can reach audiences and investors across continents, inviting them to participate in a journey where vision meets action and opportunity is waiting to be claimed.
