Afrobeats star King Promise has downplayed any concerns over Stonebwoy’s lack of response to his congratulatory message following the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA). Speaking on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz.
King Promise emphasized that despite the public discussion around the incident, their relationship remains strong, particularly in terms of business collaboration in the music industry.
Both artists have a history of working together, including joint projects on King Promise’s album and Stonebwoy’s hit track “Hey Sexy.” King Promise stressed that their collaborations continue to generate significant commercial value, driving streams, increasing audience reach, and enhancing their respective brands in the competitive Afrobeats and Dancehall markets.
“The collaborations we’ve done are still benefiting both of us,” King Promise explained. “Even though people may focus on the personal interactions, the bigger picture is the business synergy we’ve created. Our songs together not only elevate our brands but also contribute to the growth of Ghana’s music industry globally.”
The mutual support between the two artists has been commercially impactful, with each bringing their distinct fan bases to the projects, increasing streaming numbers, and generating revenue from digital platforms and performances. Their partnership underscores the importance of strategic alliances in the modern music business, where collaborations often lead to enhanced visibility and profit.
King Promise added that public reactions to minor personal matters should not overshadow the larger business goals that musicians work toward. Despite the brief social media controversy, he reaffirmed that his focus remains on his business ventures and future opportunities for collaboration. “We’re in this business to grow and succeed together,” he said, highlighting the importance of keeping personal differences out of professional partnerships.
