IMANI Center for Policy & Education has entered into a partnership with the Maritime Anti-Corruption Network (MACN) under the Ghana Collective Action initiative, aimed at improving transparency, integrity, and operational efficiency within Ghana’s maritime and port sector.
The collaboration builds on IMANI’s long-standing engagement in governance, policy analysis, and maritime-sector research.
Notably, IMANI’s 2017 assessment of operational efficiency at the Port of Tema remains a key reference point for industry stakeholders examining structural bottlenecks and reform opportunities across Ghana’s ports ecosystem.

Under the partnership, IMANI will provide data-driven research and policy advocacy to support evidence-based reforms that enhance port governance and institutional integrity.
The initiative adopts a collective action approach, bringing together public and private stakeholders to address ethical, operational, and efficiency challenges across the maritime value chain.
Commenting on the partnership, IMANI President Franklin Cudjoe said the organisation is well positioned to support Ghana’s maritime community through credible research, stakeholder engagement, and policy reform.
“We are excited to be joining the MACN family. We are poised to understand and support Ghana’s maritime community dealing with ethical, integrity, and efficiency challenges,” he said.
IMANI said it looks forward to working closely with MACN and other relevant stakeholders to develop practical solutions that strengthen port integrity and improve operational efficiency across Ghana’s maritime sector.
