The Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) has reaffirmed its commitment to building a modern and resilient electricity transmission system capable of meeting current energy demands and supporting future economic growth.
Speaking at the 7th National Biennial Delegates Congress of the GRIDCo Senior Staff Association (SSA) in Tamale, Acting Chief Executive Frank Otchere emphasized the importance of strategic partnerships with government, private investors, and local communities to enhance the company’s operations and ensure nationwide power reliability.
“We are delivering multimillion-dollar infrastructure projects essential for efficient grid operations,” Mr. Otchere said,
He noted GRIDCo’s collaboration with the Forestry Commission to plant low-growing shrubs along power corridors to prevent encroachment and maintain grid safety.
National SSA Chairman Wisdom Kojo Adenyo praised the company’s progress over the past 16 years, highlighting achievements in renewable energy integration and key partnerships with the World Bank, Millennium Development Authority, and European Union.
He stressed the need for continuous innovation and strategic thinking to address the evolving energy landscape, saying, “GRIDCo must stay at the forefront of change, and that requires stronger internal teamwork and adaptive leadership.”
Mr. Otchere reiterated that stable electricity supply is critical to national development and that GRIDCo will continue investing in infrastructure and environmental stewardship to power Ghana’s future.
