The Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) and the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) have announced the resumption of gas supply from the West African Gas Pipeline Company (WAPCo), bringing relief to consumers across the country.
The restoration of gas supply has allowed thermal power plants in Tema, which had been temporarily shut down, to return to full operation. Power has since been restored to all affected customers, ending the disruptions that impacted homes and businesses.
In a joint press release, GRIDCo and ECG reassured the public of their commitment to maintaining a stable and reliable power supply. “With the return to normalcy, GRIDCo and ECG wish to assure that we will continue our collaborative efforts to ensure continued reliable supply”, the sttatement said.
Both companies expressed appreciation to stakeholders and customers for their patience and understanding during the downtime, citing the importance of collective resilience in navigating challenges in the energy sector.
