Gold Fields Ghana Limited will bring together more than 300 local and international suppliers in Tarkwa on October 28–29 for its third Suppliers Conference, as the mining company seeks to strengthen partnerships and build more resilient supply chains.
The conference, to be held at the Akoon Clubhouse at Tarkwa Mine, will focus on how collaboration between the company and its suppliers can create lasting economic value and support business growth beyond the mining industry.
Under the theme “Partnership for Enduring Value: Building Resilient Supply Chains Beyond Mining,” the 2026 conference builds on Gold Fields Ghana’s efforts to make supplier relationships a foundation for sustainable business and local economic development.
The company has previously used the conference to promote collaboration and sustainability in its supply chain. Its inaugural edition focused on achieving a sustainable supply chain through partnership, while the second highlighted the need to embed environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles in supplier relationships.
This year’s edition shifts the focus towards ensuring that these partnerships deliver lasting benefits, particularly for Ghanaian businesses seeking to expand their capacity and compete for more opportunities.
Gold Fields Ghana says that over the past five years, 93% of its procurement spending has been made in-country. It has also directed US$2.59 billion to businesses in its host communities and engaged and supported nearly 100 community vendors during the period.
The company wants to build on this record by encouraging stronger supplier relationships and helping local businesses develop into more competitive enterprises. The broader ambition is to ensure that the value created through mining procurement extends beyond the mine and contributes to the growth of businesses and communities.
The two-day conference will bring suppliers together around this agenda, with partnership and collaboration remaining central to Gold Fields Ghana’s approach to developing its supply chain.
