Two promising Ghanaian junior wheelchair tennis players, Emmanuel Amobire and Henry Adjapong, are gearing up to compete in the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Junior tournament in Johannesburg, South Africa. Accompanied by Coach Philip Plange, the team departed from Kotoka International Airport for this significant event.

The ITF Johan Cryuff Africa Wheelchair Tennis Training Championship, taking place from September 20 to 22, 2024, marks Ghana’s inaugural participation in an ITF international wheelchair tennis junior tournament. This historic event positions the Ghanaian team as trailblazers in the realm of wheelchair tennis on the global stage.

The athletes expressed their gratitude for the support received from the ITF Wheelchair Tennis Department, the Ghana Tennis Federation Board, the GTF Wheelchair Tennis Committee, and the National Paralympic Committee, which have all played vital roles in facilitating their journey.
