The Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA) has joined policymakers, educators, and industry leaders at the first “AI for Africa: Unlocking Opportunities for Education, Innovation, and Sustainable Development” conference, held at the Accra International Conference Centre.
Organised by the Africa Education Trust Fund (AETF), the conference focused on how artificial intelligence (AI) can accelerate Africa’s growth through smarter education systems, technological innovation, and sustainable development.

Discussions centred on the practical integration of AI to improve access to learning, support local language education, and streamline service delivery. Participants, including development partners and education experts, highlighted the need for immediate institutional action to embed AI into national development strategies.
The GFZA was represented by Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Finance and Administration, Hamidu Sibiri Musah, and the Director of Corporate Affairs and Public Relations. Their participation reflected the Authority’s commitment to advancing innovation and contributing to Ghana’s efforts to harness AI for industrial and economic transformation.
The Authority’s involvement also aligns with its broader mandate to promote competitiveness, technology adoption, and sustainable growth within Ghana’s Free Zones and export-oriented sectors.
