The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) is set to commence construction of a seven-storey Multi-Purpose Car Park and Airport Hotel Complex at Terminal 3 of the Accra International Airport, as part of efforts to expand airport infrastructure and enhance passenger experience.
According to a public notice issued by GACL, the project will require the closure of the existing Terminal 3 Car Park from Monday, July 20, 2026, to allow construction works to begin.
“This is to facilitate the construction of a seven-storey Multi-Purpose Car Park and Airport Hotel Complex,” GACL stated.
The new facility is expected to increase parking capacity at Terminal 3 while providing additional hospitality infrastructure within the airport environment, supporting the growing demand for passenger and commercial services at Ghana’s main international gateway.
To ensure uninterrupted parking services during the construction period, GACL said it has developed the Terminal 3 Car Park Annex, which has capacity for more than 600 vehicles and will serve airport users throughout the transition.
“Parking attendants will be on hand to direct all airport users in and out of the new Car Park,” the company added.
The project forms part of ongoing investments by GACL to modernise airport facilities, improve operational efficiency and strengthen the capacity of Kotoka International Airport to meet increasing passenger traffic and business needs.
