Organisers of Enlit Africa and Water Security Africa have opened applications for speakers ahead of their 2026 conference, set for May 19–21 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC).
The annual event, which draws policymakers, engineers, and investors from across the continent, will focus on Africa’s transition to cleaner energy systems and climate-resilient water infrastructure.
According to the organisers, this year’s programme will address themes including grid modernisation, renewable energy integration, energy storage, and sustainable water systems. Speaker applications close on January 30, 2026, with selections to be confirmed in December and February.
The conference will feature several stages, such as the Strategise Stage on leadership and policy, the Innovate Stage highlighting new technologies and digitalisation, and a Renewable Energy & Storage Hub examining energy equity and system integration.
In addition, a Municipal Forum will discuss sector reforms and financial challenges facing local governments, while the Water Security Africa track will focus on governance and cross-sector collaboration under the water-energy-food nexus.
The organisers said the event aims to bring together more than 7,000 delegates from 68 countries, continuing momentum from the 2025 edition, which featured 260 speakers and showcased $3 billion in energy and water projects.
