Sean Diddy Combs, the 54-year-old music mogul, was denied bail despite offering a $50 million surety in a New York courtroom.
Arrested after traveling to the city to work with prosecutors, Diddy as he is popularly known is facing serious allegations, including hosting drug-fueled gatherings known as “freak offs” and forcing victims into non-consensual acts, stashing weapons, as well as beating women, with accusations suggesting he has harmed more individuals than his ex, Cassie Ventura, who was filmed being assaulted by him in a hotel hallway.
Prosecutors mentioned the discovery of AR-15 rifles in Diddy’s Miami mansion, with agents finding the weapons disassembled along with loaded magazines. They argue that these weapons present a clear threat to society and support the decision to deny bail. Despite his legal team’s efforts, Judge Tarnofsky expressed “very significant concerns” over Diddy’s alleged substance abuse and anger issues, deeming the proposed $50 million offer insufficient to guarantee public safety.

Diddy’s lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, expressed disappointment in the ruling, stating, “Mr. Combs is a fighter, and he will fight this until the end. He came to New York to establish his innocence, and he is looking forward to clearing his name.” His legal team plans to appeal the decision, insisting Diddy is innocent of the charges. His sons, who traveled to New York in support, left the courtroom visibly upset.
As the case moves forward, no cameras were permitted in the courtroom, but a court sketch depicted Diddy’s appearance. His legal troubles, including the criminal case’s connection to Cassie Ventura, are expected to unfold further in the coming weeks.
