Damang Gold Mine Ltd has reported significant operational progress since the transition of the mine, as Chief Executive Officer Ibrahim Mahama made his first official site visit to the operation.
The visit allowed Ibrahim Mahama to engage with the management team and assess the progress made since the transition of the mine’s operations.
The CEO was “impressed by the significant progress achieved in a relatively short period,” according to the company, which also said he commended management and employees for their “dedication and commitment to operational excellence.”

The assessment provides an early indication of the company’s focus following the transition, with operational performance, safety, and responsible mining emerging as key priorities for the mine’s next phase.
Ibrahim Mahama encouraged management to remain focused on building “a world-class, proudly Ghanaian mining company” founded on “safety, innovation, and responsible mining.”
The emphasis on these areas places operational execution at the centre of the mine’s future direction, as the company seeks to build on the progress recorded since the transition.
The company said the objective is to create lasting value for its employees, host communities, business partners, shareholders, and the Republic of Ghana.
With management now reporting progress in the period following the transition, the focus will be on sustaining those gains and translating them into longer-term operational performance.
