The Labadi Beach Hotel has secured an interim injunction from the Land Division of the Accra High Court restraining Spartan Ives Limited, operators of Polo Beach Club from encroaching on the hotel’s property.
The injunction is a critical move by the hotel’s owners, Hotel Investments (Ghana) Limited, to safeguard its prime beachfront asset.
According to the court documents cited by The High Street Journal, the injunction, issued on December 19, 2024, is effective for 10 days and prohibits Spartan Ives Limited from trespassing on 0.54 acres of the hotel’s property, including its use as a car park, pathway, or event venue.
In addition, the court says the defendants must refrain from operating the Polo Beach Club or hosting events on the disputed land or adjoining restricted areas.

Lastly, the court’s order further prohibits Spartan Ives from using the beachfront adjacent to the hotel’s property, in breach of a lease agreement dated November 27, 1990.
This legal action is part of Labadi Beach Hotel’s broader strategy to protect its brand and maintain the exclusivity of its facilities, which are pivotal to its reputation as Ghana’s premier 5-star beach resort.
The legal action underscores the significance of securing high-value real estate in Accra’s competitive hospitality market.
With beachfront properties being key to the luxury hotel experience, any encroachment poses both reputational and operational risks. The hotel, known for its premium services and strategic location, is leveraging this legal action to reinforce its position in the hospitality industry while mitigating risks to its operations.
