The Volta Region is positioning itself as a key hub for agribusiness and investment as it prepares to host the 2025 National Farmers’ Day and the Volta Trade and Investment Fair, two major national events expected to drive trade, tourism, and local enterprise growth.
The Volta Trade and Investment Fair will run from 26 November to 8 December 2025, creating a twelve-day platform to showcase the region’s agricultural potential, business opportunities, culture, and hospitality. It will precede the National Farmers’ Day celebration, scheduled for Friday, 5 December 2025, under the theme “Feed Ghana, Eat Ghana, Secure the Future.”

The joint hosting of the two events aims to highlight the region’s role in Ghana’s agricultural transformation and to attract investors across the agribusiness value chain, from production and processing to logistics and export.
The events are expected to inject fresh capital into the local economy, create business linkages between farmers and private investors, and promote tourism and hospitality as visitor numbers rise during the two-week fair period. Hotels, transport operators, and retail outlets are projected to record strong activity.
The fair will also provide a strategic platform for entrepreneurs, development partners, and agribusiness firms to network and explore partnerships. Exhibitors from across Ghana and the sub-region will display products and services including farm machinery, agro-inputs, processing technologies, financial services, and renewable energy solutions.
A central feature will be the first-ever Volta Investment Summit, where curated, bankable projects will be presented to investors.

The timing aligns with Ghana’s push to modernise agriculture and expand agro-industrial capacity under the Planting for Food and Jobs and AfCFTA frameworks. The Volta Region, known for maize, cassava, rice, aquaculture, and horticulture, offers strong potential for investment in processing, packaging, and export diversification.

Stakeholders, traditional authorities, and private sector actors are expected to use the event to strengthen partnerships aimed at building resilient food systems and advancing inclusive rural industrialisation.
