Efforts to restore price stability and calm currency pressures in Ghana’s economy are earning recognition from the business community, with the Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA) honouring Bank of Ghana (BoG) Governor Johnson Pandit Asiama for his policy impact.
Dr. Asiama was presented with the Policy Impact Award during GUTA’s inauguration of new executives and awards night held in Accra, in acknowledgement of his leadership in steering monetary policy at a critical time for the economy.
The traders’ association commended the Governor’s role in bringing inflation under relative control and stabilising the cedi, developments that have helped ease cost pressures for businesses and households in recent months.

The award was received on his behalf by Bernard Otabil, Director of Communications at the Bank of Ghana, and Aimee Quashie, Secretary of the Bank.
The recognition highlights growing alignment between monetary authorities and the business community, particularly as traders remain sensitive to exchange rate volatility and price instability, which directly affect import costs and margins.
For market participants, the acknowledgment underscores the importance of sustained macroeconomic stability, with expectations that the central bank will maintain a cautious policy stance to consolidate recent gains in inflation control and currency stability.
