Binance is stepping up its focus on cryptocurrency education in Ghana as growing interest in digital assets increases the need for users to understand the opportunities and risks associated with crypto trading.
The global blockchain ecosystem and cryptocurrency exchange says education is a key part of building confidence among users, particularly as more Ghanaians turn to digital assets for trading, savings, payments and access to global markets.
Larry Cooke of Binance Africa said the company sees education as an important safeguard for users entering the crypto market.
“Education is the single biggest protection any user can have,” Cooke said, pointing to Binance Academy, which provides free courses covering cryptocurrency and online safety.
He said stronger user knowledge can help people better understand how crypto works, identify scams and take steps to protect their funds.
Emerging markets now account for more than 77 percent of Binance’s global user base, up from 49 percent in 2020, with Ghana forming part of the broader shift as more people embrace digital assets and crypto trading.

The expansion of crypto adoption is creating a stronger need for financial and digital literacy, as users gain access to assets and markets that differ from traditional financial products. Understanding security, trading risks, and responsible use is therefore becoming more important for participation in the digital asset market.
“Trust must be earned through action,” Cooke said. “In Ghana we see growing interest in crypto every day. That is why we continue to invest in stronger account protection and free education to ensure people are protected while they explore it.”
Binance’s education efforts are backed by wider investments in user protection and compliance, with the company spending about US$300 million annually on compliance and employing nearly 1,500 people dedicated to compliance globally.
The platform also provides users with account protections including two-factor authentication, login alerts and withdrawal restrictions that can be activated when risk levels increase.
In Ghana, Binance said it is also engaging policymakers, banks and regulators on issues including consumer protection, financial education and the development of a responsible digital asset framework.
As crypto adoption expands, Binance says improving users’ understanding of digital assets will remain an important part of its engagement with the Ghanaian market.
