Afreximbank is seeking to deepen cooperation with the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) to mobilise more capital for trade and development projects across the continent.
Afreximbank President and Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. George Elombi, met with BADEA Chairman Dr. Fahad bin Abdullah Al-Dossari to discuss expanding collaboration between the two institutions.
The discussions focused on trade-enabling infrastructure, co-financing, risk sharing and capital mobilisation, including opportunities to jointly support larger projects across Africa.

The engagement builds on years of cooperation between Afreximbank and BADEA, covering bilateral financing, syndicated transactions, risk participation and joint initiatives.
Their collaboration has also included the Arab-Africa Trade Bridges Programme and efforts supporting Africa’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The institutions are seeking to strengthen their partnership as Africa’s financing needs increase, with greater cooperation expected to help mobilise capital, share risks and direct financing toward projects that support productive capacity, regional integration and intra-African trade.
