The Ministry of Finance has officially launched the preparatory process for the 2026–2029 Budget Statement and Economic Policy, calling for public input to shape the country’s medium-term fiscal direction.
The Ministry is inviting submissions from a wide range of stakeholders, including business associations, professional bodies, financial institutions, civil society organisations, and the general public.
The budget, scheduled for presentation to Parliament by 15th November 2025, is expected to serve as a strategic roadmap for public spending, investment, and macroeconomic policy over the next four years. In a formal notice, the Ministry expressed appreciation for past contributions to the national budget and called for continued engagement to help guide the country’s development priorities.
The request for input reflects the government’s stated commitment to participatory policymaking, aiming to enhance transparency, ensure fiscal inclusivity, and better align budgetary decisions with the needs of the population. The Ministry noted that this open call is in line with efforts to deepen citizen engagement in the budget process and implement policies that are both data-driven and socially responsive.
Submissions are to be sent electronically to [email protected] no later than close of business on Friday, 29 August 2025.
The 2026–2029 budget cycle will be developed against the backdrop of Ghana’s ongoing fiscal consolidation efforts and structural reforms under both domestic policy initiatives and international financial support programmes. As the government works to stabilise macroeconomic conditions, rebuild investor confidence, and accelerate recovery, public input is expected to influence spending priorities in key sectors such as infrastructure, healthcare, education, agriculture, and digital transformation.
