The Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Osman Ayariga, has announced the ongoing construction of youth centres across Ghana to serve as training and mentorship hubs aimed at equipping young people with essential skills for their future.
Speaking at the International Youth Empowerment Summit (IYES) Ghana 2025 at the UPSA Auditorium on Friday, March, 14, Mr. Ayariga pledged the NYA’s commitment to youth empowerment through skills development, mentorship, and vocational training.
The International Youth Empowerment Summit (IYES) Ghana, an annual gathering of young leaders, policymakers, and industry experts, continues to serve as a key platform for engaging Ghana’s youth on leadership, entrepreneurship, and personal growth. The summit provides a space for young people to gain insights from experienced professionals and industry leaders, fostering personal and career development.
During his address, Mr. Ayariga revealed that efforts are already underway to build youth centres nationwide that will serve as key training and mentorship spaces.
“Youth centres are currently being constructed across the country to serve as training and mentorship hubs,” he stated.
He highlighted that these centres will provide practical vocational and technical training to ensure that young people acquire sustainable livelihood skills to thrive in the job market.
Expanding Opportunities for Ghana’s Youth
Mr. Ayariga reiterated the NYA’s willingness to collaborate with stakeholders in youth-related initiatives that align with its mission. He urged organizations, businesses, and individuals to support the Authority’s efforts in creating opportunities for skills development and employment.
“The Authority’s doors are open to all youth-related programmes and partnerships that seek to empower our young people,” he stated.
Beyond training, the NYA boss also encouraged experienced professionals to volunteer as mentors, stressing the role of guidance in shaping future leaders.
