The High Street Journal is teaming up with Axis Human Capital Ltd today to host a live discussion on navigating the uncertain transition from school to work, as thousands of graduates complete their mandatory National Service across Ghana this month.
The conversation, scheduled for 7 p.m. on The High Street Journal’s X account, will examine the pressures young people face after ending their one-year service, a period often marked by silence, uncertainty and competing expectations from family and peers.

While some graduates move quickly into jobs or further studies, others struggle with job market barriers such as lengthy application processes, high entry requirements and limited responses from employers.
Many are also weighing the risks and demands of starting their own businesses in an environment where access to capital and experience can be scarce.
The session aims to provide an open space for honest discussions about these challenges, rather than offering quick fixes or favouring one path over another.
The talk is scheduled to go live later today, Thursday, September 18, exclusively on The High Street Journal’s X platform. Don’t miss it.
