Two Ghanaian startups have been named among the 15 ventures selected for the ninth cohort of the Google for Startups Accelerator: Africa, highlighting Ghana’s growing footprint in artificial intelligence innovation and its emerging role in the continent’s digital transformation.
The selected companies, Regulon and Zerone Analytiqs, are both using AI to solve high-impact challenges in compliance and data access, two critical areas for African businesses navigating fragmented markets and limited digital infrastructure.
Regulon provides an AI-powered onboarding and compliance platform that supports businesses across Africa and the EMEA region. The platform simplifies complex regulatory procedures, making it easier for companies to meet evolving compliance requirements.
Zerone Analytiqs focuses on addressing data scarcity by transforming how African organisations source, analyse, and utilise data. Its AI-driven tools help bridge data gaps, enabling better decision-making and insight generation across industries.
The Google accelerator, which runs from June 23 to August 22, 2025, aims to equip early-stage African startups with technical resources, mentorship, and access to global networks. Now in its ninth edition, the programme has supported over 150 startups from 17 African countries since its launch in 2018.
This year’s cohort was selected from nearly 1,500 applications across the continent. Startups will benefit from:
- Technical mentorship from Google engineers and AI/ML specialists
- Leadership and product development training
- Up to $350,000 in Google Cloud credits
- Investor and partner visibility
The inclusion of two Ghanaian startups underscores the country’s growing reputation as a West African tech hub, supported by a young developer base, a maturing startup ecosystem, and rising interest in AI applications across sectors such as fintech, healthtech, logistics, and enterprise software.
Google’s support is expected to provide both companies with the tools to scale their impact beyond Ghana’s borders. With AI adoption gaining momentum across the continent, Ghanaian innovators like Regulon and Zerone Analytiqs are positioning themselves to play a leading role in shaping the future of Africa’s digital economy.
Since 2018, startups in the Google for Startups Accelerator: Africa programme have collectively raised over $300 million and created more than 3,500 jobs, contributing to significant economic value on the continent.
