The Transform Africa Summit (TAS) 2025 has been postponed to a later date, the Smart Africa Alliance announced, citing a strategic realignment aimed at enhancing the Summit’s long-term value and expanding participation across Africa’s digital ecosystem.
The decision, made in close consultation with key partners, is positioned as a move to ensure stronger alignment with the continent’s digital priorities and to deliver a more impactful platform for high-level policy dialogue and technological cooperation.
“We are seizing unprecedented opportunities to amplify the Summit’s impact and better serve our stakeholders,” Smart Africa said in an official statement. “This repositioning will strengthen collaboration and unlock greater synergies across Africa’s digital transformation landscape.”
Widely regarded as Africa’s leading event for digital policy discourse, the Transform Africa Summit has historically convened heads of state, technology leaders, innovators, and policymakers, advancing Smart Africa’s vision for a connected, inclusive, and digitally empowered continent. The Summit plays a central role in supporting the development of Africa’s Single Digital Market, one of the Alliance’s flagship initiatives.
According to the organisers, the additional time afforded by the postponement will be used to deepen engagement with stakeholders, refine the Summit agenda, and mobilise greater continental and global participation. These efforts are expected to contribute to a more comprehensive and actionable Summit outcome.
The Alliance also expressed appreciation to the Republic of Rwanda, the Summit’s traditional host, for its ongoing support and commitment to Smart Africa’s mission of driving inclusive digital growth.
A new date for TAS 2025 will be communicated in due course. In the meantime, delegates and stakeholders are encouraged to stay connected as preparations continue for what is expected to be a reinvigorated and more influential Summit.
Smart Africa, a public-private alliance of 40 African countries, continues to champion collaborative approaches to accelerating digital transformation, investment, and innovation across the continent.
