The Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) has launched the eleventh edition of its Entrepreneurship Programme, aimed at empowering African youth by offering startup training, mentorship, and a non-refundable seed capital of up to US$5,000. This programme, a flagship initiative of Africa’s leading philanthropy for entrepreneurs, seeks to support young business leaders across the continent.
The TEF Entrepreneurship Programme is open to African entrepreneurs with innovative business ideas or early-stage ventures that are less than five years old. Eligible applicants must be 18 years or older and stand to benefit from world-class business training, access to the vast TEF network, and global networking opportunities.
Since its inception, the TEF programme has empowered over 15,000 African entrepreneurs, helping them connect with influential figures in the private and public sectors, investors, and advocates. These connections have greatly boosted the profiles of young entrepreneurs and created new growth opportunities for their businesses.

By investing US$100 million in this initiative, the Tony Elumelu Foundation is committed to transforming the future of Africa’s entrepreneurial landscape, especially by providing the youth with the tools, mentorship, and capital to succeed. The programme also creates a platform where young entrepreneurs can learn, grow, and scale their businesses, making a lasting impact on their communities.
Applications for the programme are now open on the TEFConnect digital platform, with the deadline set for March 31, 2025. African youth looking to take advantage of this opportunity are encouraged to apply, and those needing assistance with their applications can reach out via the provided email.
This initiative continues to be a game-changer for young African entrepreneurs, providing them with the resources and connections to drive growth and innovation across the continent.
